Who Are We
Great Build — Our Story
We built the underwear
we couldn't find.
Plastic-free. No ride-up. No chafing. Built for how men actually look — and backed by science.
The Problem
Most men's underwear
is made from plastic.
That's not a metaphor. Polyester — the fabric in 90% of men's underwear — is synthetic plastic. It releases microplastics, BPA, and phthalates directly against your most sensitive skin. Every single day.
We wore it too. For years. Until we looked at the label.
Founder Story
At 35, James Carter and his wife were trying to start a family.
After a year of trying, nothing. His doctor ran tests. Low testosterone. Poor sperm quality. The kind of news that stops a room.
His doctor gave him a list. Diet. Sleep. Stress. Heat exposure. Chemical exposure. James went through it line by line. Changed everything he could think of. Everything except his underwear.
Six months later, still nothing. Then his wife — who'd been researching obsessively — found a series of studies published on the NIH database linking polyester fabrics to endocrine disruption in men. Microplastics. BPA. Phthalates. All released directly against the most hormone-sensitive skin on the male body. Every single hour of every single day.
He checked the label on his boxers. 87% polyester.
He switched immediately. Changed nothing else. Four months later, his wife was pregnant. Three months after that, his doctor ran his levels again. Testosterone was back in a healthy range. Sperm quality had improved significantly. The numbers didn't lie.
Great Build was built so no man has to figure this out the hard way.

Our Mission
Great Build exists
for one reason.
To give men a boxer that doesn't work against them. No plastic against their skin. No riding up. No chafing. Just organic cotton, built right, backed by science.
We're not a wellness brand. We're not a fitness brand. We're men who did the math and didn't like what they found — and decided to fix it.
Every man deserves to know what he's wearing against his body. And every man deserves a better option.
The Science
This isn't marketing.
It's peer-reviewed research.
Four studies published on the NIH database. Read them yourself.
Study 01
Microplastics released during washing of polyester fabrics
Confirms synthetic textiles shed microplastic particles with every wash cycle — particles that enter waterways and are absorbed through skin contact.

Endocrine disrupting effects of micro and nano plastics
Documents how microplastics and nanoplastics act as endocrine disruptors — interfering with hormone production and hormonal balance in men.

Microplastics: A Threat for Male Fertility
Links microplastic exposure to reduced testosterone levels and lower sperm quality in men — the most direct study connecting synthetic fabrics to male reproductive health.

Microplastics exposure: implications for human fertility and pregnancy
Examines the broader reproductive consequences of microplastic exposure — including fertility outcomes and hormonal disruption across both sexes.
